The Property Division manages all aspects of Alshaya's 2,500 store retail property portfolio for our 70+ brands across 19 countries. The property division is split into 3 areas, Real Estate, Project Management and Facilities Management (FM). The Division holds regular reviews on store performance and drives real estate portfolio maximizations to ensure it meets the company's and brands' expectations in regard to quality and profitability. With 450 new stores opened in 2012, and with 425 new stores and 400 refurbishments planned for 2013, the work is fast-paced and dynamic. The team structure is split by region, ensuring your exposure across a number of international blue chip brands.
The Role:
You will be responsible for assisting the Real Estate Manager with acquiring suitable properties for the Alshaya brands and provide an internal property consultancy service.
Within this role you will:
- Assist the Real Estate Manager with site selection - finding investigating and evaluating sites for potential stores in all countries- Assist the Real Estate Manager with leases - preparing and concluding formalities, attending to legal signatures and the processing and dissemination of agreements- Offer a property consultancy service on the legal aspects of leases and other issues such as insurance- Liaise with Brand Managers - interacting and advising on property developments and markets to establish property requirements for each brand.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- A property qualification (Chartered Surveyor or similar)- Minimum of 3 years' experience in property management/ negotiation specific to retail- 1 year's experience in leasing- Legal training desirable- Good communication skills in English- Arabic speaking is an added advantage- Valid driving licence.
